The situation in Gaza has been deteriorating since the onset of the war between Israel and Hamas, which began with the October 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas militants. Israeli security forces announced on Friday that they had killed two Hamas commanders involved in the October 7 attack. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes overnight in Gaza’s Beit Lahia and nearby Jabalia areas led to numerous casualties, including deaths and missing persons.

Marwan al-Hams, director of Gaza’s field hospitals, emphasized the dire consequences, stating that without the necessary fuel, hospitals will either stop functioning or significantly reduce their services. The ongoing conflict, compounded by the blockade on fuel, has left Gaza’s healthcare system on the brink of collapse.
